In early 2010 I made my third trip to the Philippines, alone, and for six (6) weeks. One of my first stops, besides Manila, was Subic Bay. A friend I had never met, Dave Starr picked me up at my hotel in Manila and drove me to my hotel in Subic Bay – not the one mentioned here.

At the time I wish I had known about this hotel, The Lighthouse Marina Resort in Subic Bay, Philippines. I discovered it by accident while walking the beach. It really stands out as you can see in the photo gallery above. The website also has a nice gallery of photos.

What brought it to mind again was a review from the Agoda website, also with a nice gallery of photos – this hotel scored 8.1 out of 10. If I ever get to Subic Bay again I will definitely have to remember this place. Let me know what you think if you have stayed there.
